All the pontoon boats at Leisure Point |
So that brought us to Leisure Point, Millsboro, Delaware - about 1/2 hour away from the beach.
the pool |
A great, clean park about 1/2 from the
Beaches – Rehoboth or Cape Henlopen. We like to be a little
closer, but this park has a lot of seasonals who are there for the
summer or retirement. Super friendly people – who told us what
restaurants to go to – Nicola's Pizza, Big Fish Seafood ( next
time!) . Nicola's was great pizza where all the locals go at the
beach.
Love the strip of stores and lively action at Rehoboth Beach.
Lots of fishermen at Leisure Point and tonnes of Pontoon boats –
quite the life for retirement!
Went into Cape Henlopen – probably our
favourite day here – did biking along the trails – climbed up the
lookout tower at Fort Miles again. We love the landscape here –
rugged, windswept, sandy.
Exploring Fort Miles at Cape Henlopen |
The waves at the beach were huge!
Unswimmable for kids – but that was just the day.
Then went to their
fishing pier, where Trent spent a few more hours – with no
throwbacks, no keepers. Hopefully our luck will change! Others were pulling up some smaller flouder
and striped bass.
Cape Henlopen Pier - never give up! |
Cape Henlopen Pier - always a great place to hang out - even on a cloudy day! |
Last day, just hung at the pool here, and the
boys went down to the crabbing pier – met other teenagers and were
gone for hours – 3 crabs – ate them that night – lots of work
for little meat. What a fun, super place.
