Kiptopeke State Park, Virginia

Second time here, but still LOVE it!
We LOVE it here!
Nice big, grassy sites, just a short walk to the beach!

Kiptopeke fishing was not nearly as great as two years ago, but still fun. The blue crabs started to be a bit more plentiful the second last day, but still smaller than Maryland. We ate a couple. For some reason they didn't taste quite as tasty as the males up in Maryland...

Some great trails, that took us to an old bunker.

A great place to take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge across to Virginia Beach!

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Kiptopeke

Will caught the first fish off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge!

We LOVE Ocean City, Maryland!

Battling the huge waves- had a day where they were wiping people out!

Just a few more photos of Ocean City!
On the Ocean City boardwalk!

Mug and Mallet - enjoying a tray of crabs at the Mug and Mallet!
Mug and Mallet - a great place to learn how to eat crabs and enjoy a great feast!!!

Back to Frontiertown, Ocean City, Maryland! Yee Ha!

Assateague State Park on a really hot day!
Fishing on the pier, beside the bridge to Assateague
Frontiertown:   Last time we really experienced the magic of the ponies by staying at Assateague National Park for a few nights – but also experienced the bugs, the heat, etc.
This years wild horses at Assateague!
But it was worth it.   This year we did drive through the State Park and may stay there in a couple of years.   But decided to stay at Frontiertown as it is close to Assateague and Ocean City!

I love the dog park at Frontiertown!

But, Frontiertown is still great. Crabs were not as plentiful this year, but still lots of fun to try to catch. We did get a few. The waterpark, although small, is still a great place to cool off on a very, hot day.
The waterpark is a great place to cool off on a super hot day!

-cons: brutally slow internet, busy, busy, busy, cold showers

-pros: lots for kids to do, well taken care of, friendly, going to the Ocean City Boardwalk! Thrashers fries! Mug and Mallet crabs! Assateague Horses! Great dog park!

Greatest go-karting track ever on our Route – Grand Prix! Ocean City- best tracks, and wristband lets you ride for two hours!

Great day at Ocean City Beach – hot days, cool nights... huge waves! Lots of fun.

Great days at Ocean City beach!

Exciting last night when they were catching sharks off the pier!

There was a bird on my dog, Sarge's back, the bird was reallly cute. It was a baby blue-jay,we named him.... J.J He clung to Sarge's back, J.J sat there for about 10 minutes. J.J finally hoped off Sarge, and he sat in the open in a little ball. We made J.J a nest, and tried to get him in it. We lifted J.J into the box. I left the campground for about 2hour's, when i got back the blue jay was in a little ball inside the nest that we hade made for him. I tried to feed it some worms, but it did not eat anything. J.J steeped there all night, but in the morning J.J was gone.

This looks like a good place for a nest!

Fish from Delaware Seashore State Park and Cape Henlopen

toad fish very hard to take off hook  and have very strong jaws that can crack oysters

small shark off the Cape Henlopen pier

taking the hook out!

Delaware Seashore State Park, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Delaware Seashore State Park: 1,000 hits! Thanks to whoever is reading this!!!

Stayed at Delaware Seashore State Park.  We also drove into Cape Henlopen to fish at the pier.

basically a parking lot - but.... we had a tree!

Delaware Seashore, the beach across the street from the campground!

This park is basically a parking lot. We had site 304, which had little traffic and the only two trees in the whole park. But... the beaches nearby are gorgeous. Bethany Beach is a really nice, clean little boardwalk/beach area. There is surf fishing, and fishing in the river right from the campground. Bathrooms are clean and fairly new. Park is quiet at night. Short drive to Rehoboth Beach and all the shopping, so definitely some pluses.
Hit a good sale at the outlets at Rehoboth Beach!
Love going into that area. Also drove to Bethany Beach, and walked around that little boardwalk/beach area. Just gorgeous. Neat and clean. It would be hard to stay at this campground in a tent or tent trailer, and is mostly large motorcoaches/fifth wheels. We were here during a heat wave, and it helps to run the air. We had stayed at Cape Henlopen before, without power and air, and really felt it, and also had a major tick infestation, which kept us away this time. We did drive there and fish off the pier, which is the greatest fishing in the area.

Cape Henlopen: The greatest pier in the world! You can crank in the fish! The perfect campground would be a mix between Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore....
A man gave Trent all these sand fleas for fishing. Sand fleas look like little crabs, about an inch long, that have a shell all the way around them, so they have lots of armour. We went to a Delaware Beach, and Trent was fishing and using them. My mom was lying down on a blanket, and she was asleep. So I thought, maybe I should take some sand fleas and put them on my mom's back. Before that day, she was giving me massages, so she thought it was a massage. Until Trent put one down my mom's bathingsuit and she felt the legs crawl on her. Then she realized it was a sand flea. She screamed. We laughed....
It's all fun and games, until someone puts a sand flea down your back!
The car story: Trent and Dad went down to go fishing. Me and my mom were supposed to come down at sunset in the truck to take pictures. So me and my mom got into the truck and started it up. She drove straight into a pole. There were no dents in the truck, but a few scratches. The neighbours said, “no one saw that....” but when we came back my mom had to park in a small area with a tree next to it. She drove into the parking spot and there was a branch about 3 inches long. The branch screeched and scratched across the top...   Mom got in trouble~

Bridge lit up at night beside Delaware Seashore

Otter Lake Resort, Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania

VERY windy, steep hills getting in – at least 6 miles of them. The entrance to one says “no trailers over 28 feet”, so be careful. You need VERY good brakes and a very good driver.  Luckily, we had Dad!   The campground is lovely - with outdoor and indoor pools, fishing and small beach. Trent liked fishing here in the small lake, and Will is living in the swimming pool.

Really grew on us. Sites are big and wooded, which was great in the extreme heat.  Temperatures have been about 95 every day!    Well-spaced apart. Lots of activities, which are also very spread out across the park. Huge park.  We really like it here!

Otter Lake Rocks!  small bass in the morning, big one at night

The diving was great! There is a nice big pool, with a diving board. People were doing flips and dives.

One activity was baseball,it was lots of fun!I hit really far.

a very warm lake  where I caught the 2 bass
The nice pool at otter lake

swimming all day!

The sites were nice and big,  (rows A,B,C,D are great) there are lots of activities, and movies to watch at night.

Oneida Shores Park, near Syracuse, New York

Heat Wave!
The Beach

Oneida shores – great if you have a boat – want to pop it in and out and go fishing. If not, it is more of a parking lot. We were here during a hot spell and the beach was closed due to e-coli- so check before, just to make sure the beach is open – that makes a difference. Not a lot of sites – but far enough apart, grass, and gravel, so was great. Private and quiet. Wouldn't stay here for a long period of time, but just off the highway, near Syracuse, so great for a couple of nights, or one-night stop over on the way to somewhere else.
